Three-Year Discipleship Course

This course is designed to pool talents for the inheritance of Wudang sect. There are two kinds of disciples, the disciples who stay at the mountain and the disciples who spread around the world. All disciples have to pass through at least three years of assessment.

Course Fees:
Single room: ¥72,600 per person/year
Standard room: ¥50,600 per person/year
Triple room: ¥40,600 per person/year
Dorm room: ¥20,600 per person/year

(Course fees included meals, accommodation, tuition fee and uniform EXCLUDED Wudang Mountain entrance ticket. Students should bring along their own personal toiletries and bedding set (bed sheet, quilt cover and pillowcase).)
Basic Requirements:
1. Any gender, age and education level
2. Well-featured, no smoking, alcoholism and other bad habits, good conduct  
3. No infectious diseases and severe illness (Medical examination of Wudang mountain hospital shall prevail)
4. Those who are interested in long term study and inheritance of Wudang health preserving, wushu and inner elixir cultivation techniques
Assessment Content:
1. Loyalty (loyal to country, sect and master)
2. Taoist literacy
3. Health preservation knowledge
4. Wudang wushu
5. Teaching skills
6. Practicing of Dao as a lifelong habit to improve own realm
Those who pass the assessment will be absorb into Wudang sect and be train as a formal Wudang disciple.
Course Content:
First year·Stage 1·Elementary 1·Curriculum: Wudang Wushu Foundation·Health Preservation
1. Wudang sect moral education: The Five Precepts, The 10 Commandments to Wudang Disciples
2. Wudang internal strength foundation building
3. Basic skills: Stance practice, breathing exercise, guidance, sitting meditation, stretching
- (“Wuji”, “lift-descend”, “open-close”, “empty-solid”, single-leg, trinity, bagua) stance
- Mud walking, bagua steps
- basic skills of cultivation of inner strength (posture, mental and breathing)
4. Three postures of Wudang wushu and health preserving: Hands, body, steps
5. Five methods: The basic rules and applications of eyes, hands, posture, footwork and steps
(The above basic contents should always be taken as basis throughout the course.)
6. Eight-section brocade by Zhong Lü (standing and sitting)
7. Six healing sounds by Tao Hong Jing
8. Calligraphy, TCM theory, Chinese language, Chinese chess, Taoist music
9. An introduction to wushu and Taoist health preserving
First year·Stage 2·Elementary 2·Curriculum: Wudang Wushu Foundation·Health Preservation
1. Basic skills as in stage 1
2. Wudang Five Animals
3. Wudang Taiji 18 Steps: push hand (one hand, both hands), application
4. Wudang Taiji 36 Steps: Basic grappling skills, force-generation (stage 2)
Those who finished the first and second stage of the study and pass all the exams are eligible to be train as assistant coach for health preserving class.

2. Basic skills of Xingyi (footwork, fist techniques, body postures), practices of Xingyi Five Elements Fist and its application
Second year·Stage 4·Elementary 4·Curriculum:

2. Xingyi Dragon-Tiger Linked Fist, Xingyi Six-Unity Sabre, Xingyi Sanshou, pair exercises, application
Second year·Stage 5·Elementary 5·Curriculum:
1. Basic skills as in stage 1
2. Wudang Taiji 64 Steps, Taiji Sword, basic sword and its application
Third year·Stage 6·Intermediate 1·Curriculum: In-depth Study for 1st and 2nd Year Contents

2. Dandao 13 Steps, push hand, grappling, force feeding
Third year·Stage 7·Intermediate 2·Curriculum:
1. Basic skills as in stage 1
2. Taiyi Wuxing Quan (Taiyi Five Elements Boxing), push hand, routines and its application

2. Dan (Elixir) Sword, Seven Star Sword, Basic skills, routines and its application
The five phases of health preserving, kungfu and inner elixir cultivation: 
1. Self foundation building筑基炼己: In this stage, the taiji system in our body is built, which means the Yin and Yang correspond to Taiji, or the Wuji become Taiji. It promote the endless vitality that helps to maintain human life and for health preserving.
2. Cultivating essence (Jing) and transform it to vitality (Qi)炼精化气: The Qi penetrate into the bones and make the bones getting stronger. It helps to solve the aging problems of our waist and legs and on the other hand, integrated and external force will be gained.
3. Cultivating vitality (Qi) and transform it to spirit (Shen)炼气化神: The Qi penetrate into the meridians and collateral channels. It helps to solve the deficiency of blood and Qi and blockage of meridians. Our organs will get nourishes. In this stage, the person will gain the inner force of taiji.
4. Cultivating spirit (Shen) and return to emptiness炼神还虚: Achieve the level of “three flowers gathering at top”, “five Qi toward the source”, “nine turns to restore elixir”, the Qi penetrate into marrow and the whole body is throughoutly remould. In this stage, the person will gain the dispersed force of taiji.
5. Cultivating emptiness and correspond to Dao炼虚合道: Become a mysterious and unfathomable sage or immortal.

Chen Lisheng 陈理圣---Taoist name Ling Xu Zi 灵虚子) is the 15th generation descendant of Wudang XuanWu sect , disciple of Master You Xuande (游玄德) and graduate degree holder from Chinese Taoist Academy in Beijing. Master Chen came to M.T Wudang in the end of 1996 and has practised Wudang Martial Arts and Taoist health cultivation for more than 20 years. He specializes in Wudang Taichi, Wudang Elixir Sword, XiaoYaoZhang (Wudang Free palms), Baguazhang (Eight Diagrams Palm) , Xingyi Quan ,Wudang Five Elements Qigong (Five Animals ) and Taoist health cultivation techniques .
